With some fabulous beaches just a few minutes drive away, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a beautiful beach with lovely waters.
- Agia Marina (2,5 Km away) is composed by a number of sandy organized beaches which has easy access. A part of Agia Marina is full of small bays while the east side of the place is a long sandy beach which reaches up to neighbouring Stalos settlement. Agia Marina is also a developed touristic site with shops, bars, tavernas, beach bars and night clubs.
- Opposite the beach of Agia Marina you'll see the protected islet of Thodorou, which can be approaced by organised boat trips. In the small cove of the islet, serving as the harbour or the island, there is a small sandy beach overlooking Agia Marina.
- The beach of Platanias (5,5 Km away) is a lovely long sandy strip, along which there are many touristic facilities. On the beach you will find everything that is provided on well organized beaches, such as beach bars, umbrellas, showers, snack bars, lifeguards, water sports etc. During summer nights, the night clubs in the area host thousands of people, both Greeks and foreigners, who dance till dawn.
- Kato stalos beach (2,1 Km) is situated right above Stalos village and it is a long beach with nice soft sand and crystalline waters. Visitors in this beach can enjoy its picturesque scenery and relaxed environment together with participation in activities such as beach volley, beach tennis and water cycling.
In Akrotiri Peninsula, about 30 minutes driving distance from the villa, you will find five beautiful beaches worth visiting.
- Marathi (23,6 Km): Marathi has two wonderful beaches, divided by the pier of the harbour and they are probably two of the best beaches in Akrotiri peninsula. Both are sandy and well organised with sun beds and umbrellas. The most important advantage with the beaches in Marathi is that you'll almost never see the sea with waves, even when it blows in western Crete. Also there you can find taverns and cafes by the sea. Marathi is ideal for families with children.
- Kalathas (16,8 Km): The beach is very well organized with umbrellas. West of the main bay, beyond the rocky end, there is a secluded non organised sandy bay.
- Loutraki (22,7 Km): Loutraki beach has fine sand and crystal clear shallow waters, especially suitable for children. It is very well organized and provides all the common amenities. You can rent umbrellas, eat in the taverns of the area, and enjoy various water sports.
- Stavros beach (22 Km) with shallow clean waters and a hidden small turquoise lagoon, famous worldwide from the film “Zorbas”.
- And finally Seitan Limania beach (28,5 Km), one of the most magical beaches of Crete and a real heaven with pure white pebbles and azure, crystal clear waters.
Finally, on the west coast of Crete you can find some of the most amazing well known natural beaches of Crete and Greece like “Phalasarna”, “Ballos”, “Gramvousa” and “Elafonisi”. The distance to the west coast from the villa is about one hour by car and all the above beaches definitely worth a visit!
- You might have seen Elafonisi beach before, in a picture or in a postcard, or maybe in every top-10 must-see beach of every travel agency in the world. Voted as one of the best five secret beaches by BBC, 14th best beach in the world by CNN, Elafonisi combines turquoise waters with pink sand, one meter deep waters and a lagoon. Great for families due to the shallow water but a sheer delight for all.
- Balos Beach is one of the main reasons thousands of people visit Chania every year and is accessible by organised boat trips, combined with a visit to Gramvousa islet. Balos is a beach lagoon and famous for its exotic scenery, turquoise waters and natural beauty, compared to the Caribbean beaches. Shallow waters make Balos an ideal beach for families with children, while the crystal clear waters and the idyllic scenery meets every expectation to the fullest!
- Falassarna is a gorgeous beach, receiving a vote every summer by thousands of visitors! Kilometers of white, powdery sand, crystal clear waters ideal for snorkeling and a mind-blowing sunset! Falassarna is also a part of the Natura 2000 network because of its outstanding natural beauty and its variety in flora and fauna.
